“Popular American Icons” will preview the poster
artwork a full three months before the rest of the country sees
it on the 76th Annual Academy Awards®, which will air on February
29, 2004. Also on display will be a variety of icons from Monopoly
and Mr. Potato Head to Uncle Sam. Morris will be signing posters
at Pop’ N Art.

Burton Morris
first gained international attention in the mid-90’s
when his artwork (his famous coffee cup and Statue of Liberty)
began to appear in Central Park, the coffee shop on the set of
the NBC television series Friends. Since then he’s been seen
everywhere…from the hit show Just Shoot Me to the labels
of Perrier bottles and Pepsi-Cola cans. His neckties hang around
the necks of celebrities like Mathew Perry, Lyle Lovett and Jay
Leno. |
